June 29, 2026
We are kicking off the second half of 2026 with a wave of innovation aimed at transforming how you connect with your customers and manage your operations. From highly customizable customer display boards and smart, personalized messaging to deeper ecosystem integrations and expanded developer capabilities, we’ve rolled out an incredible lineup of upgrades designed to eliminate friction, cut staff interruptions, and delight your guests.
Here is a quick look at everything we’ve built to elevate your operations so far in 2026.
Order Ready Board
To better streamline the in-store pickup experience, we launched the Flybuy Order Ready Board – a customer-facing display dashboard that provides real-time order status for in-store customers and delivery drivers. By automatically pulling data from the KDS, Delivery Provider integrations or the Flybuy system, the Order Ready Board seamlessly transitions orders from “In Progress” to “Ready.”
This feature is fully customizable with light/dark modes, landscape/portrait orientations, third-party delivery provider branding, etc. By keeping customers and drivers clearly informed, the Order Ready Board reduces perceived wait times, minimizes staff interruptions, and creates a cleaner in-store pickup experience. Venues can also create separate boards for first-party customer pickup and 3rd-party drivers, which is especially helpful when there are multiple pickup areas.
Smart Customer Messaging
A new Flybuy feature that helps reduce guest confusion, mitigate missing items, and create a more personalized pickup experience. Dynamic, order-specific messages can provide guests with clear instructions on what items to collect and where to pick them up, while also incorporating personalized details such as the customer’s name, order contents, pickup window, and location name. By delivering timely, contextual information, Smart Customer Messaging is a simple way to help ensure a smoother handoff process and improves the overall customer experience.

Dwell Time Recording/Reporting
New dwell time metrics are now available via the Reporting API, giving you precise data on how long customers linger in specific areas of your store. These metrics are also exposed at the order level in the archived orders API, making them easy to pipe into custom integrations and data warehouse pipelines. With this foundation in place, you’ll be able to build spatial analytics like heatmaps, traffic flow analysis, and peak dwell zone reporting.
Flybuy Pickup Redemption Flow Update
We released Redemption Flow 3.0, a major update to the customer pickup experience on web and app designed to streamline the path from order placement to pickup. The new flow features a cleaner, more intuitive user interface, consolidates multiple customer actions into a single streamlined experience, and introduces new capabilities such as travel mode selection and enhanced review collection. These improvements reduce customer friction, increase engagement, and help brands capture more accurate arrival and pickup data.

Custom Spot Identifier Labels
Giving admins the flexibility to replace standard “Spot” language with terms that match their actual store layout – like “lane” for drive-thrus or “table” for dine-in. Labels can be customized by pickup type and feature short versions for compact staff dashboards, longer versions for customer mobile screens, and helpful prompt hints (like “enter table number”).
"No Order" QR Check In
We launched a new ‘No-Order QR Check-In flow’ for businesses without advanced order integrations, like pharmacies and small retailers. When a customer arrives and scans the QR code, Flybuy instantly creates an order record on the fly. The customer fills out a quick form, which now includes a Date of Birth field for pharmacy verification. This information immediately populates on the staff dashboard as a waiting customer, completely eliminating the need for manual order entry or complex point-of-sale integrations.

SDK Enhancements
We are constantly expanding the capabilities of our SDKs. Key updates so far this year are ‘Nearness Check’ for more precise arrival detection, ‘Multi-Project Support’ to enable seamless experiences across related brands, configurable Live Activities through Order Status Tracker, and ‘On-Site Check’ functionality to improve location awareness. We also released a new React Native wrapper to make integrations more flexible across platforms.
Integrations & Partner Enhancements
In 2026, we made it easier than ever to connect your existing tools and platforms. We added new integrations with Square and Grubhub, improved our Toast integration so you get more accurate Order Ready status updates, and strengthened support for PAR Brink KDS. We also deepened loyalty program support, so your loyalty data flows seamlessly through your existing setup. And with enhanced Uber Eats integration, you’ll have better visibility into driver location and order status so your team always knows what’s coming and when.
That's all for now. Stay tuned for what's to come in the second half of the year!
